Rural farmers get durian seedlings to diversify

MIRI: The state government is committed to helping the farming community, especially those in rural areas, diversify their crop cultivation.

Among these efforts is the distribution of durian ‘Blackthorn’ and IOI seedlings organised by the divisional Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the Telang Usan service centre.

The programme was attended by 120 people including community leaders as well as representatives from 88 villages within the Telang Usan district.

It was aimed at diversifying the agricultural products of the Baram community, especially Telang Usan.

Also present were Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau,  Telang Usan District Officer Baru Tai, Political Secretary to Premier Charles Balan Seling and Divisional Agriculture Officer Hafriz Razak.
