KUCHING: The Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Salcra) held its annual appreciation dinner at the Bajo Training Centre in Lundu.

The event brought together over 200 attendees, including board members, employees, subsidiaries, and officers from the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Sarawak (M-FICORD), along with representatives from various state agencies.

“The primary objective of the event was to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of employees in 2023, fostering teamwork across Salcra’s operating areas and setting the stage for another prosperous year ahead for Salcra,” as stated in a press release on Monday (Jan 8).

One of the evening’s highlights was the book launch titled “Salcra: The Empirical Details of Its Contribution To The Socioeconomic Development of Rural Sarawak.”

The book was unveiled by Salcra chairman Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, who also serves as the minister for M-FICORD. This publication marks a significant milestone as the first comprehensive study conducted by renowned academicians from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas), Dr Nwanesi Peter Karubi, and Dayangku Norasyikin Pengiran Tejuddin, about Salcra.
