SIMUNJAN: A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched on Tuesday (Jan 3) to locate a man in Kampung Plaie Ladong reported missing after failing to return home.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the man, identified as Lindi Lengan, 69, had been missing since Dec 27.
“The victim is said to have left his house and did not return home.
“The victim’s family lodged a police report the next day (Dec 28),” the spokesman said.
The family had carried out an initial search around the village and managed to find the victim’s belongings near the village’s water line.
Firemen from the Simunjan station were deployed to the scene to commence the search operation.
At press time, the victim is yet to be found and the search is still ongoing.
