KUCHING: The Sarawak Foundation provided financial aid to victims affected by the fire in Kampung Bintawa Hilir.
The fire that occurred in Kampung Bintawa Hilir on Jan 5 had destroyed and damaged a few houses which affected 44 villagers in the area.
In response to the incident, Sarawak Foundation presented a RM2,000 donation to each of the victims.
The cheque was presented at Masjid Darul Al Islam, Kampung Bintawa Hilir on Feb 1 by Sarawak Foundation Director Mersal Abang Rosli to the representative of the families affected.
Also present during the handing over ceremony were Principal Assistant Director (Scholarship, Programmes and Assistance) Zamahari Saidi; Assistant Director (Corporate) Jolly Marikan; and Assistant Director (Programmes and Assistance) Mahathir Mohammad.
