KUCHING: Sarawak will not blindly copycat Putrajaya but will stick to its pledge of policy implementation according to its own roadmap.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said part of that roadmap will ensure there is political stability in the state and all his government policies are strategically stable and can stand up to severe political and socio-economic scrutiny.

“Political stability is important in ensuring the goal can be accomplished, thus the government will continue to develop Sarawak based on our own acuan (roadmap).

“That is why in the 12th Malaysia Plan, we don’t follow Putrajaya’s policies 100 percent. We have our own policies,” he said when launching the book entitled ‘Sarawak Time Honoured Brand, An Everlasting Glory’ collection series and its appreciation night held at Pullman Hotel here, yesterday.

Abang Johari said the state government will continue to fight for the state rights that have been eroded, including the state’s rights to its oil and gas.

“Bear with me, the state government will pursue this and it will give benefit to Sarawak’s private sector where we can inject investments to generate growth which ultimately will benefit our people,” he said.
