Sarawak trio appointed Malaysia DanceSport Federation national adjudicators

KUCHING: Sarawak DanceSport Association (SDA) officials Russell Lim Jian Liang, Randell Lim Xiu Zhen and Cindy Chung Sin Yee have been appointed as national adjudicators by the Malaysia DanceSport Federation (MYDF).

According to the press release issued today, the appointment was made known by SDA president Chester Lim, who also serves as the MYDF secretary general.

Lim expressed his confidence in the trio’s ability to fulfil their adjudicating duties and highlighted their potential to qualify as World DanceSport Federation licensed international adjudicators in the future.

Describing them as seasoned danceSport athletes from Sarawak, proficient in both Standard and Latin categories, he noted their impressive track record, including national rankings and representation of Malaysia in international competitions between 2006 and 2012.

The trio holds dance teaching qualifications from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and has undergone training in ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.

Russell holds an ISTD Fellowship in Modern Ballroom & Viennese Waltz and licentiate in Latin American, while Randell and Cindy are ISTD licentiates in both Modern Ballroom & Latin American.

They have actively participated in various World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) adjudicator congresses, danceSport workshops, and courses since 2008, and currently serve as officials of the Sarawak DanceSport Association.

Randell and Cindy are associated with the Russell and Randell Dance Company in Kuching, with Cindy serving as studio principal. Randell is a businessman, while Russell practises law in Kuching.
