KUCHING: Belle Sisoski, a talented musician, continues to dominate the Commonwealth Song Contest (CSC) with her captivating entry, ‘Stop Your Games’.

Out of the 56 Commonwealth countries, this 17-year-old Chinese producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Kuching, but currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, has secured her position as one of the seven grand finalists.

Belle composed and produced this 4.33-minute-long song when she was just 15 years old, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Notably, the lyrics were initially penned when she was only 13 years old.

After submitting ‘Stop Your Games’ to the UK Songwriting Contest in 2022, Belle’s exceptional talent caught the attention of the organisers, leading to her selection as Malaysia’s representative in the 2022/2023 CSC.

The song beautifully captures the raw, dark, and intricate emotions experienced during the pandemic, from the perspective of a solitary child in lockdown. Additionally, it showcases the integration of diverse musical instruments, including the ‘Tapi,’ a traditional instrument played by the Lun Bawang communities.
