KUCHING: The long-awaited Selangau Waterfront will be a dream come true for the local people upon its completion.

Most people in the rural town are eagerly waiting for the waterfront to be completed so that they will be able to enjoy the scenic and stunning view as well as activities at the riverbanks of Batang Mukah.

According to Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang, the construction of the waterfront is still ongoing with at least 30 percent completion.

“There is a bit of a delay due to the enforcement of movement control order (MCO) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Now, the construction has resumed and it is expected to complete in the middle of next year,” he said in a press statement.

“This is a projek rakyat (people’s project) for Tamin. I urge the locals to cooperate with related agencies and contractors for the project in order for it to be completed on time. Thank you Sarawak government,” added Gira.
