KUCHING: A self-employed man lost four artificial bonsai trees to thieves yesterday morning.

The 58-year-old from Cenderawasi, Jalan Depo, said he woke up at around 7.00an and later discovered that the trees, worth RM4,000, which he placed outside his house were missing.

A police report on the incident was lodged.

Meanwhile, a security guard lodged a police report after his employer’s house at Jalan Tong Wei Tat was broken into on Wednesday afternoon.

The complainant said he discovered the break-in at 4.15pm and found 12 vehicle wheels, a unit of air-conditioner and electric cables were missing.

In a separate incident, an 8-year-old girl lost two fingers after she was attacked an unknown assailant on Wednesday.

The incident took place at a shophouse at Jalan Penrissen here at 1.30pm when the individual, who was armed with a sharp object, was believed to have gone to the third floor of the building and attacked the young victim before fleeing the scene.

Other occupants who heard the girl screaming in pain immediately alerted her father who was working at a coffee shop located on the ground floor of the same building.

The victim’s father rushed to their room and brought the girl to the Sarawak General Hospital for treatment.

It was believed that the attack was due to debts.

A police report on the incident was lodged and police were investigating the case.
