BINTULU: The Enforcement and Environmental Health Unit of the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) seized two units of self-service car washing machines after they were found not to comply with license conditions in an integrated operation around the town last Wednesday.

BDA in a statement said that in addition to not complying with license conditions, the operation of the premises involved also caused dirt and clogged drains.

Among the agencies involved in the integrated operation were the Bintulu District Office, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Fire and Rescue Department, LAKU, Sarawak Energy Berhad and the BDA Enforcement Division, Mechanical Electrical and Public Relations Section.

According to the statement, the objective of the operation was to ensure compliance with the regulations governing the usage of self-service automobile washers here.

The operation was also important to ensure cleanliness and safety for the public in Bintulu.

The authorities hoped that every entrepreneur and trader could comply with the rules that had been set by the District Office and the license conditions issued by the PBT to ensure a high level of compliance and standards.
