KUCHING: A 32-year-old man was fined RM4,000 or sentenced to six months jail term for showing his genitals to a female cashier at a grocery store last September.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali sentenced Hafiz, 32 from Kampung Sri Arjuna after pleading guilty to one charge under Section 509 of the Penal Code.
According to the fact sheet, during the scene the victim, 20, was on her way to work and was confronted by the accused who was buying groceries.
The incident allegedly happened at Mile 10, in Jalan Penrissen at about 2.30pm on September 21 of this year.
Upon conviction, it carries jail term up to five years or a fine or both.
Based on the fact sheet, the accused then asked the victim regarding the prices of the groceries but instead the victim saw the accused showing off his genitals to her.
The other victim made a complaint to the store owner of the accused’s actions who then showed off his genitals on the counter table while paying for his groceries.
Fearful of everyone’s safety, the victim made a police report for further actions.
As a result of the investigation, CCTV footage has shown that the accused have shown his genitals to the victims.
The prosecutor of the case was Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei Ahmad while the accused was not represented by Counsel.
