KUCHING: Sarawak Invention, Innovation & Design Exposition (SIIDEx) 2018 will be held for three days starting 2 March and ends on 4 March.
It will be held at PCC Demak in Kuching.
SIIDEx 2018 is an initiative undertaken by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch and the Ministry of Education Science and Technological Research (MESTR) Sarawak. It is supported by the Sarawak Education Department and Invention and Design Association of Sarawak (IDEAS). Its goal is to nurture and propogate an innovation culture in Sarawak especially among school children.
Among additional activities and events are motivational talks; talks on innovation sharing, commercialisation and intellectual property rights.
Other activities include interesting Science show, Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) activities as well as fun quizzes.
SIIDEx 2018 objectives are to promote and nurture interest in science and technology through active involvement of school students in STEM activities, to provide opportunities for school students as well as institutions / industries in Sarawak to participate in the invention, innovation and design competition, to provide an avenue for participants and visitors to share and learn about products and process of invention, innovation and design. It also aims to provide a networking platform for schools, higher institutions, and industries in Sarawak towards creating an innovative society.
