KUCHING: Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian chaired his first meeting of his new portfolio as Minister of Housing at his ministry office in Wisma Sultan Tengah, yesterday.
“I am very grateful to our chief minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg for giving me his portfolio as he has held it for quite a long time.
“My first day in this office is a meeting to brief me on the duties which been left by Johari and on progress of project that needs to be done,” said Sim before the meeting started.
He added, he will continue the policies of Johari especially on affordable housing.
“We also want to address the problem of young people as well as looking into the possibility whereby everybody has at least a basic house,” he noted.
Also present was Assistant Minister of Housing and Public Health Dr Annuar Rape’ee.
