Singapore cops arrests 122 for illegal moneylending

SINGAPORE: Singapore police arrested 122 suspects between 15 and 76 for unlicensed moneylending activities during an operation from March 22 to March 28, according to the latest statement from police, Xinhua reported.

Preliminary investigations showed that 17 suspects conducted harassment at debtors’ residences, 45 assisted unlicensed moneylenders by carrying out ATM transfers, and 60 helped illegal moneylending businesses with their bank accounts.
