KUCHING: A single-storey house at Kampung Siol Kandis was burnt to the ground in a fire incident here yesterday.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) assistant operations director Tiong Ling Hii when contacted said the department received a distress call at 5.34pm.
Firefighters from Petra Jaya were immediately deployed to the scene along with Tabuan Jaya fire station personnel.
“Upon arrival, they found the fire was at its peak and could do very little to save the building which had soft and non-permanent structures.
“No injuries or casualties were reported during the incident and that the actual cause of the fire and total loss are yet to be ascertained as the investigation is still ongoing,” he said.
Tiong said operation ended at 6.25pm.
