According to him, his ministry and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) have identified a suitable site for the project, which is located near the Bintulu Airport along Jalan Bintulu – Sibu.

He said the proposal to build the truck terminal was made because Bintulu is an important industrial area in the region.

“Bintulu is an industrial area. Therefore, I think we need to have a suitable and complete transportation hub because transportation is an important aspect of industrial development,” he said after visiting the proposed site for the terminal, yesterday.

According to Lee, the truck terminal project is also one of his ministry’s efforts to improve the transportation and logistics system in the state.

He believes that this project will bring new opportunities to trucking associations and operators, as well as contribute to the development of the trucking industry in Sarawak.
