KUCHING: A delegation, led by Minister of International Trade and E-Commerce, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) at the Bank Negara Malaysia Sarawak Branch here.

Speaking to reporters during a press conference, Wong thanked all representatives from various agencies for giving them detailed briefings. “My colleagues and I have learnt a great deal and benefited from the briefings.

“Our ministry is new and we have a lot to learn. Therefore we look forward to working closer together with MITI and all other relevant agencies. “This is so that we can promote international trade, e-commerce, and so on,” said Wong, who was also the Second Minister of Finance. Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of E-Commerce, Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais who was also present, said that the ministry should be working with other relevant sides.

“This complimentary role can be strengthened if we can share and access all the information with policies, incentives, and so forth,” said Naroden. Also present was MITI Sarawak Director, Griffith Jones Goba.
