MUKAH: The Mukah Buddhist Association (PBM) held a special prayer ceremony at SJKC Chong Boon here in conjunction with Wesak Day and Teachers’ Day.
PBM chairman Ho Kian Eong said they were pleased to have been given the opportunity to play a part in the celebration.
“The Mukah District Education Office, through SJKC Chong Boon, asked us to hold the ceremony.
“The ceremony was held at night and everything went smoothly from beginning to end.”
Also present at the ceremony was SJKC Chong Boon headmaster Teo Ai Geok.
Apart from that, PBM also gave ang pau (money) to two families affected by a fire incident at Kampung Tutus Hilir Mukah.
Prior to this, various parties had also come forward to provide assistance to the two families.
