KUCHING: Seven frontline workers from The Spring Shopping Mall’s security team have tested positive for Covid-19.

Following this, The Spring Shopping Mall said it had initiated a temporary mall closure for one day tomorrow (May 19) for total disinfection and sanitisation work following the guidelines from the Health Ministry.

“We would like to reiterate that The Spring has always applied the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the mall by conducting thorough disinfection works on a daily basis and we shall continue to do so rigorously.

“We have arranged for all of our operation staff to undergo the swab test and a new security team will be taking over from the current team,” it assured.

During these unprecedented times, it said, The Spring Shopping Mall had been committed to doing its best to take the necessary precautions and actions to prioritise the health and wellbeing of its shoppers, retailers and employees.

“However, with the rising numbers of cases in Kuching, we are susceptible to the virus, like everyone else,” it said.

Despite the setback, the shopping mall thanked its customers for their continued loyalty, understanding and support.

“Let’s continue to work together to create a secure and safe shopping environment for all by checking in via MySeiahtera app; practising physical distancing; taking temperature scans at the entrance; wearing face masks correctly at all times and sanitising hands thoroughly,” it added.
