Sri Aman and Kuching record unhealthy API readings

KUCHING: The Air Pollutant Index (API) in Sri Aman and Kuching were recorded as unhealthy today.

According to the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak website, as of 12 pm, Sri Aman recorded an API reading of 153 while Kuching is at 110.

Meanwhile, IPD Serian recorded an API reading of 100 which is marked as moderate while Samarahan is at 89, Lundu (87), Sarikei (82), Tebedu and Lubok Antu (78 each), Bintulu (73), and Sibu (70).

Samalaju and Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Miri each recorded a reading of 69, Mukah (66), Miri (64), and Limbang and Kapit (63 each).

The districts of Bario and Lawas each recorded readings of 45 and 44 respectively which marked their API status as good.

An API reading for good air quality is from zero to 50, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and 300 and above is hazardous.
