KOTA PADAWAN: All development projects that will involve Borneo Highlands will be announced by the state government itself.

Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) Tan Kai stated that the council is only responsible for the maintenance for the area.

“We are only responsible for the road maintenance, the grass cutting and the waste collection.

“The rest, we would just let the state government announce if there is any new development project going on for Borneo Highlands,” he said.

He also added that the council will continue to attempt its best at managing all of the areas under MPP.

“We will make sure that all villages, housing areas, town under MPP has been taken care of, and the more developed the areas are, the more revenue we will generate,” he said.

This was said during a press conference after he chaired the MPP monthly meeting at its meeting hall yesterday.

In the meantime, Tan then stated that MPP has divided its administrating zone into 10 zones and 14 areas for the term 2023 to 2025.

“All of the councillors have been placed in the areas as they will be the first respondent towards any issues or problems that are faced by the people there.

“Most importantly, they must be known by all of those residents for future reference,” he added.

Also present during the press conference were deputy chairman of MPP Abang Ismawi Abang Ali and acting secretary Ita Ling.
