MUKAH: The supply of chicken eggs here is sufficient as of Thursday (Jan 6), assured the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Mukah branch.
Its branch head Salihin Den said there were a total of 1,350 sets of grade B chicken eggs available at five designated district retailers (DDR) here as of Jan 6.
He added of the total, 500 sets were available at Gafu Supermarket, Everwin Trading Sdn Bhd (300), Medan Mall Department Store (300), Nam Leong Department Store (100) and Chai Guan (150).
Each set has 30 eggs and 1,350 sets are equivalent to 40,500 units.
“Generally the supply of chicken eggs here is sufficient,” he said on Thursday (Jan 6).
He was clarifying the current egg supply here, and on claims by a shopping centre here on Wednesday (Jan 5) telling customers that the egg supply would only be available in two weeks.
