“The public, including our regular clients, have expressed a strong desire for us to continue offering our talam sets this year,” he added.

“Therefore, in addition to the ones that are now in the cafe, we will also set up more tables in the hotel’s corridor and hall to meet this demand. Together, these spaces can seat about 120 diners at a time,” he said.

“On the amenities, guests don’t have to bother about parking because there are plenty of parking spaces at the hotel. In addition, we also provide separate surau for men and women.”

“We will extend our cafe’s business hours until 11pm in honour of Ramadan, especially for those who want to have moreh, a late-night supper after performing the tarawih prayer. We will prepare special food for them,” he said.

Another intriguing feature of the Set Talam Ombak is that all earnings derived from the menu will be channelled to underprivileged groups, such as charitable homes and orphanages.

Additionally, dine-in patrons are welcome to donate for charitable causes via contribution (infaq) of as little as RM10 through the hotel’s Jom Berinfaq initiative.

Each customer wishing to partake in the programme will receive a raya card to write their name on, which will then be affixed to the wall of the Ombak Cafe model house.

As one of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives during the Ramadan month, Shukardi stated that they will give out their famous Bubur Pedas to the general public at their hotel compound on the first day of fasting.

The porridge will then be distributed to suraus, mosques, and other government departments every Friday as part of its ongoing charitable endeavour.
