MIRI: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) will not waste its time and energy on trivial political issues.

Instead it will focus its efforts on helping Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in his transformation strategy so that Sarawak can achieve its goal of being a prosperous and high-income state by 2030.

The party’s Senadin Branch chairman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin spelt this out clearly in stressing the need for all to do their best for Sarawak.

He said on its part SUPP needs to continue to adapt to the ever-changing political situation in the country and Sarawak, and do its best to provide its services to Sarawakians.

“With the establishment of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in June 2018 and the strong support and mandate we have received in the Sarawak election last December, we must continue our efforts to do our best for Sarawak and its people, in line with the policy of ‘Sarawak first’.

“SUPP, as the second largest political party in GPS, should continue to make concerted efforts to serve the people to the best of our ability and commitment in order to strengthen the people’s support towards GPS and SUPP,” said Lee who is also state Transport Minister, in a press statement.

He added that a stronger SUPP would in turn help to form a stronger GPS, which would ensure a strong and stable government in Sarawak.

“With a stronger and united GPS, our Premier and all the leaders could focus their spirit, time, energy, expertise and resources in building a better Sarawak for all of us,” he added.
