KUCHING: The Malaysian Board of Technologists (MBOT) is supporting talent development in Sarawak in the field of technology said its president Prof Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir.

She said the Sarawak has an exciting talent prospect, with them being exposed to state-of-the-art projects such as the hydrogen-powered Automated Rapid Transit (ART).

“This development is truly remarkable, as such progress is not happening elsewhere other than in Sarawak.

“We are here to offer our support in recognising and enhancing talent in Sarawak. This is to ensure they receive recognition and better opportunities,” she said.

She said this when speaking to reporters after a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at his office in Wisma Bapa, Malaysia, yesterday.

At the same time, Siti Hamisah said MBOT is assisting Sarawak to develop 10,000 technologists through inter-agency collaborations with the Public Works Department (PWD), the Association of Professional Technicians and Technologists (APTT), and the Malaysian Association of Technologists (TAM).

“We are committed not only to identifying and supporting graduates but also existing professionals who can benefit from further training and recognition,” she said.

She added that this includes facilitating relevant courses, mentoring programmes, and industry partnerships to ensure graduates are ready for employment after completing their studies.
