SWIPE appoints Sani Araby as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Homegrown startup company, Swipe Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Swipe) has announced the appointment of Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby as its new chairman.

In a statement, Azarul Hakim, chief executive officer (CEO) of the innovative payment solutions provider, said Sani’s extensive expertise and worldwide network will greatly assist the company as they work towards becoming a top supplier of fintech solutions.

He said Sani Araby had served as a board member and consultant for a large number of businesses and organisations all over the world, and the appointment represents a significant accomplishment for the organisation and exemplifies its commitment to further expansion and technological advancement.

“Now that Sani Araby has been appointed as the new chairman of Swipe, the company’s long-term goals for global expansion include a focus on Europe and the Gulf States, as well as the strengthening of Malaysian and Indonesian markets.

“As a business magnate, philanthropist and humanitarian activist, he is a well-known public figure around the world, with more than two decades of experience working in both the private and public sectors, as well as a network spanning over 40 countries,” he said.

The announcement of the appointment was made during the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development (DIHAD 2023), held recently.

According to the statement, Sani Araby is also currently serving as the chairman of SiagaX Group and the CEO of the Malaysian Consultative Council of the Islamic Organisation (MAPIM Malaysia).

Meanwhile, Azarul said that Swipe will also showcase its most recent solution at the KazanSUMMIT 2023 to be held in Moscow in May, the AIDEX Expo in Geneva in July and DIHAD 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates in April next year. – BERNAMA
