KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, hosted a breaking of fast with Sarawakian families at a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
The objective of the event was to foster family spirit and solidarity among Sarawakians living in the federal capital.
At the event, Raghad presented ‘duit raya’ to 30 underprivileged Sarawakian families working and staying in the city. The money came from the Raghad Foundation.
Also present were Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Minister for Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, staff of Rumah Sarawak and Anak-Anak Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur.
