KUCHING: About 150 persons took part in a Tai Chi and Qigong exercise at Pustaka here yesterday.

The event was organised by Petra Jaya Taiji Qigong Shibashi Association in conjunction with its launch.

Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman jointly launched the association.

Fadillah said such good and healthy activity must be promoted and encouraged not only among the Chinese but also the Bumiputeras.

“Qigong is a form of networking and social activity which I hope will enhance the understanding and integration of the various ethnic and religious groups in Petra Jaya,” he stressed.

Fadillah delivers his speech during the programme.

He said there was always respect when the people understand each other well in terms of culture, belief and values.

“When there is respect, hopefully we will love each other. Only then we can live in peace and harmony.”

At the event, Fadillah was appointed patron of the association.

Meanwhile, Fazzrudin said Tai Chi qigong was a good platform to strengthen the unity among Sarawakians.
