KUCHING: Political secretary to the Chief Minister Tan Kai, Kapitan Michael Wong and officials from the Civil Defence Force (APM) visited Happy Valley at Jalan Luis here to check on the victims of previous flash floods, on Wednesday.
Tan Kai said they were helping the flood victims to apply for compassionate sum from APM and hoped that this would help the victims to ease their financial burden
He said they visited the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) on Tuesday and met the director to discuss the solutions to prevent the flash floods from happening in this low lying residential area.
He added that they had contacted the nearby developer and would hold a dialogue with the residents soon to seek for better understanding and flash flood prevention if caused by the ongoing development there.
