KUCHING: In a bid to bolster healthcare services and facilities at Tanah Puteh Health Clinic (KKTP), efforts are underway to collaborate with the Kuching District Health Department, said Dr Kelvin Yii.

The Bandar Kuching MP said that the aim was to offer assistance and seek cooperation in various aspects, ultimately benefitting both the clinic’s patients and staff.

“Recently we were on the ground to visit Tanah Puteh Health Clinic (KKTP) to monitor the upgrades and improvement for the clinic since my last contributions as well as follow up on different needs of the clinic and find ways that we can assist them for the benefit of the staff and patients.

“Previously, I contributed RM100,000 to the clinic and that funds were used by the clinic to erect a new “Breast-Feeding Room” to the mother and child clinic. That room is also used for the nurses in the clinic to teach new mothers how to breastfeed their newborn child,” he said in a statement today.

Additionally, Dr Yii added, the allocation facilitated the procurement of essential resources such as furniture, cupboards, computers, and other necessities, further enhancing the clinic’s infrastructure and operational capabilities.

The clinic, a longstanding government clinic situated within the heart of Bandar Kuching parliamentary constituency, plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to the community.

As the elected MP, he said a persistent commitment to addressing the clinic’s needs and concerns remained a top priority.

Plans for the ongoing year include continued efforts to address public needs, undertake necessary repairs, and implement further infrastructure upgrades to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services for all.
