KUCHING: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) is aiming to generate sales revenue of RM1 million from the Madani Ramadan Bazaar, which has been running for nine consecutive years.

FAMA recently opened two locations of the FAMA Ramadan Bazaar in Sarawak, namely the Madani Ramadan Bazaar at Medan Niaga Satok and Bazaar Ramadan Pasar Tani Kekal at Sibu.

These bazaars attracted a total of 102 entrepreneurs.

With 72 entrepreneurs at the Madani Ramadan Bazaar, consumers are offered a variety of necessities and foods for breaking the fast.

The Madani Ramadan Bazaar was officiated by the Director of FAMA Sarawak Ramli Mat Sani earlier yesterday (Mar 30).

In addition to the launch, FAMA also distributed spicy porridge to bazaar shoppers.

There were also Madani Combo Sale and an Egg Sale organised by Agrobazaar Online, which offered food necessities at a lower price.

Meanwhile, FAMA also collaborated with Bank Rakyat to contribute aids to 200 asnaf individuals in Sarawak.

The donations will be distributed in several rounds, and the first batch was given to 30 asnaf individuals at Medan Niaga Satok yesterday.

The next round will take place on April 9 at Pasar Tani Daro. 32 recipients will benefit as part of the Ramadan Tour Program.

On April 20, the Syawal Bright Sale Program will be launched at Medan Niaga Satok, and 138 recipients will receive aid during the event.

To provide convenience to consumers, FAMA is also providing an online service to purchase essential goods through Agrobazaar Online portal at www.agrobazaar.com.my.

Also present at the officiating ceremony were FAMA senior director of marketing and promotion, Habibah Sulaiman, and senior director of digital marketing, Nor Hairi Harun.
