Tatau Fest from July 29 to Aug 13

TATAU: The 2023 Tatau Festival will be held at Sungai Jatan Community Park from July 29 to August 13.

According to the Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai, for this year’s festival, the targeted return is about RM3.8 million.

He made these remarks after chairing the Tatau Festival 2023 coordination meeting here, recently.

Sikie said the festival is being held as one of the events in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary of Sarawak Independence, where the main event of the festival will feature the Powerboat Championship and Tatau Mini Regatta.

“The event is expected to be attended by speedboat and paddle boat racers from all over Sarawak and most likely from Brunei Darussalam as well.

“Participation from abroad will indirectly have a positive impact on the local tourism industry,” he said.

Sikie added that several cultural events will also be held including ‘Niti Daun’, ‘Bermukun’ competition, ‘Ngajat Taboh’ competition and so on.

The festival will also feature 175 stalls selling various food and handicraft by small traders from all over the state.
