KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) distributed Aidilfitri aid of RM125,100 to 483 individuals and 22 tahfiz centres.

According to its general manager Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, the aid is intended to ease the burden of the communities during the month of Ramadan as well as preparations to celebrate the upcoming month of Syawal.

“As of March 31, TBS had distributed RM16.5 million to the asnaf group through four main programmes namely Program Mengukuhkan Tradisi Keilmuan, Program Membangunkan Institusi Islam, Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah and Program Peningkatan Kemahiran Ummah,” he said while officiating at Majlis Iftar Perdana Program Kasih Ramadan at Dewan Kompleks Islam here on Thursday.

He went on to say that the assistance provided through the Program Kasih Ramadan is part of their proactive endeavour to meet the fundamental requirements of communities like the asnaf group and others who were affected by the pandemic.

Abang Mohd Shibli also had the opportunity to speak at the Santai Ilmu Kasih Ramadan, where he was able to offer some knowledge about community issues.
