KUCHING: Technology College Sarawak (TCS) is one of the best business-based institutions of higher learning in Sarawak.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the college boasts a high passing rate that has exceeded expectations.

“And this is a stellar achievement that every TCS student and staff member should be proud of.

“TCS is also one of the biggest contributors to the skills in today’s job market, as the college helps to produce graduates with employability skills that are in high demand in the working industry.

“As such, it comes as no surprise that about 98 per cent of TCS graduates are employed within six months after they have completed their studies,” he said.

He said this in his text speech read by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni at the 17th TCS Convocation Day at Raia Hotel here today (Jan 7).

Elaborating further, Abang Johari said studying at TCS also comes with a variety of advantages, as the college offers first-rate courses from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), all of which are five-star higher learning institutions in Malaysia, as well as its very own homegrown Foundation and Diploma programmes.

“As such, the students are guaranteed both quality education and a higher rate of marketability in the world of working professions,” he pointed out.

The premier also noted that students at TCS have the advantage of receiving government financial aid to help pay for the tuition fee.

“With this, students and their families are not burdened with financial matters, and they will be able to fully focus on their studies,” he said.

Meanwhile, TCS company director Amin Aznizan said that after more than two decades, TCS has proven itself to be able to produce graduates who are in high demand in the workforce.

“We have a talented, passionate, and dedicated faculty, and everyone working at TCS, from the cleaners to the CEO herself, is no less amazing.

“Yes, we are a humble college in the sense that we are not located in a metropolitan area; we don’t have a fancy campus; but we have the hearts, the brains, and the soul, and that can be felt by everyone who steps into TCS,” he said.
