TEBEDU: The Sarawak government continues its commitment to develop rural areas, especially in terms of providing infrastructure and education.

According to UKAS, Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada stated that the constituency was not exempted from such development.

He said that apart from infrastructure development, it was also important to emphasise on education.

“Education matters should be taken seriously by all levels of society and race. As Nelson Mandela said, education is a powerful weapon that can develop a country or even destroy a country.

“Therefore, in order to ensure that the field of education is successful, all parties must play an important role such as cooperating and supporting the efforts of teachers as educators.”

He said this when officiating at the opening of SK Temong School Hall last Sunday (Dec 11).

The hall, which costs RM180,000, is a Rural Transformation Project (RTP) that was fully completed in August 2021 and handed over to the school in July 2022.

During the same ceremony, Dr Sinang also approved the Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM20,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and the construction of a new fence for the school, including the purchase of chairs for the hall.
