Cuepacs says financial aid shows state govt is concerned
KUCHING: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services Malaysia (Cuepacs) Sarawak Branch thanked the state government for the RM500 financial assistance for federal civil servants in the state.
Cuepacs Sarawak president Ahmad Malie said that the announcement by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday clearly showed that the state government was very concerned about the welfare of civil servants.
“This also shows that the state government appreciates the services and contributions of the federal civil servants who help to implement development projects in the state.
“Cuepacs Sarawak hopes the recipients will use the money in the best way possible, especially to prepare for Gawai Dayak and Hari Raya next year.
“In addition, we are confident that the assistance will motivate and inspire the federal civil servants to continue their excellent service for the common good, especially at the grassroots level in this country,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.
Earlier, Abang Johari announced that the federal civil servants in Sarawak would receive a financial assistance of RM500 from the Sarawak government in appreciation of their service.
Speaking at the State Civil Service Day at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) yesterday, he added that the aid would be paid by next June and was an addition to the RM500 assistance from the federal government.
