SIBU: Three unemployed individuals were arrested for stealing vitamins from a pharmacy at Jalan Kampung Nyabor here on Monday (Nov 23).

Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the incident happened at 10.40am on Sunday (Nov 22).

“The shop assistant, who was alerted by the pharmacy’s security alarm, went through the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and saw three individuals walking out of the shop with four bottles of multi-vitamins worth RM193.81.

“Further checks found that the trio did not register their details in the customer’s logbook or through the MySejahtera app when entering the premises,” he said.

Around 1am Monday (Nov 23), the police came across the three suspects — two men, aged 25 and 39, and a 32-year-old woman — at Sibu Gateway and arrested them.

Stanley added that during interrogation, they admitted guilt for the crime committed at the pharmacy and are currently being placed in police lock-up.
