KUCHING: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning, with expected heavy rain and strong winds in Sarawak.
The affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Mukah (Tanjung Manis), and Kapit (Song) until 12 noon today (June 14).
This warning has been prompted by indications of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity surpassing 20mm/hour, persisting for an hour or longer.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term alert valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a specific area.
