BINTULU: Education and knowledge are undeniably very important in this era of globalisation.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said teachers therefore have a great responsibility in instilling good values in children, to help them distinguish right from wrong so that they are always on the right track.

“In addition, I encourage all parties involved in the education sector to organise more activities to encourage learning in schools, especially in Sarawak,” he said at a dinner to welcome the new principal and celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri at SMK Sebauh, Friday (May 5).

Tiong who is  Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister welcomed the new principal of SMK Sebauh, Sewing Gak who replaced Rosimi Eron who has moved to SMK Senibong, Lundu.

Before his new posting, Sewing was the principal of SMK Long Lama, Baram.

Tiong was confident that he (Sewing) can work together with the teaching staff of SMK Sebauh for the benefit of the school, thus continuing the school’s legacy of excellence.
