KUCHING: Tourism Malaysia conducted a business-to-business session (B2B) at the Travel Agents Federation of India (Tafi) Convention 2022 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching here.

The convention from Tuesday to Friday is a collaboration between Tourism Malaysia, Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) and Business Events (BE).

On Thursday (Sept 22), the Malaysia Travel Mart was launched by Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Seri Anil Jeet Singh Sandhu.

“Indeed, we hope these initiatives will help boost Indian tourist arrivals and indirectly benefit both countries’ tourism industry and economy,” he said.

“This year’s tagline Build Back Better discusses sustainability, advanced greening efforts, conservation and responsible tourism.”

Elaborating further, he said Tafi, with a membership of more than 1,400 travel agents, consisting of 70 per cent outbound travel, was one of India’s premier travel trade associations.

“I believe this convention would benefit Tafi members, to gain new insights and options for their clients for leisure travel, MICE or even weddings as well, to the destination of choice – Sarawak.

“I hope to be able to promote both Sarawak and Sabah, I want to promote Borneo,” he added.
