KUCHING: Pantai Damai assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi is full of praise for “Pesta Mensia Marek” (Traditional Games) which were introduced during the recent Darul Hana Carnival.
“They became the centre of attention and were well-supported by the public.
“Events like these are important so that the traditional heritage can be preserved even if the residents of Kampung Seberang Hilir move to a new settlement here at Darul Hana,” he said during the Darul Hana Carnival Appreciation Ceremony 2019 organised by the Land Custody and Development Authority (Pelita) here yesterday.
On the Darul Hana Carnival, Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Rural Electricity Assistant Minister, pointed out that it was a major event in the city, capable of attracting many.
He added the public had contributed many ideas including “Pesta Mensia Marek” to make the carnival successful.
