KUCHING: The Trefoil Guild Girl Guides were awarded the Asia Pacific Leadership Award for Service to Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting recently.
Girl Guides Association Malaysia vice president Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Tunku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah acknowledged the impressive accomplishment.
“Let us be the best role models for the young ladies.
“With all the knowledge, skills and experiences accumulated over the years in guiding, our ladies have contributed generously towards the community and the world at large,” she said this after officiating at the 2nd National Trefoil Guild Council Gathering 2023 which began here Tuesday (March 7).
Highlighting the significant contributions made by the Trefoil Guild Girl Guides she urged the delegates to work together to achieve common goals.
“Your passion in guiding helps us to bring you all together in the fulfillment of our common goals and that is why it makes Trefoil Guild Girl Guides even stronger.”
The Trefoil Guild Gathering is expected to have a positive impact on Sarawak’s tourism industry with over 150 international and local delegates attending the event.
The gathering is being hosted by the Girl Guides Association Malaysia (GGAM), Malaysia’s largest single gender organisation from March 7 to 10.
Also present were Chief Commissioner Girl Guides Association Malaysia, Datuk Jeyadhevi Subramaniam, President Girl Guides Association Malaysia Sarawak Branch, Datuk Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud and Consul-General of Brunei Darussalam Noni Zurainah Ismi.
