KUCHING: Two individuals believed to be illegal four-digit lottery ticket agents were arrested by police during separate raids here on Saturday.

Kuching Police District chief, ACP Abang Ahmad Abang Julai, who confirmed the arrests, said the suspects, aged 28 and 32, were detained at a five-foot-way of a shophouse at Jalan Rock and a commercial centre at Jalan Tun Jugah following tip-offs received from the public regarding their illegal activity.

He said police also seized RM197 in cash, two mobile phones, stationery, and betting slips from the duo.

Abang Ahmad said the suspects, from Kampung Blau in Simunjan and Sibu, were taken to Simpang Tiga Police Station to facilitate investigation under the Common Gaming House Act, 1953.
