Two churches receive grants from Unifor

Date:

BUKIT SABAN: St Christopher Church in Debak and St Mark’s Chapel in Spaoh received grants from the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) amounting to RM500,000 each.

The cheques were presented to the churches today (Oct 27) by Deputy Chief Minister and Bukit Saban assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas. The handover ceremony of cheques was held in two separate locations — Debak and Spaoh, which are located under the Bukit Saban constituency.

Reverend Eric Riss, representing St Christopher Church, was present to receive the grants at the simple ceremony held at the Bukit Saban Service Centre.

During his walkabout in Spaoh, Uggah, who is also the minister-in-charge of Unifor, also visited Kampung Hilir, Kampung Tengah, Kampung Hulu and Kampung Pengan to check on the people’s wellbeing.

He was accompanied by Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr Richard Rapu and Bukit Saban Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu deputy chief Abang Suhardie Abang Zaini.
