KUCHING: Two men were arrested after drugs were found on them at Jalan Genesis Industrial Park II, Sungai Moyan here last Monday (Oct 5).
Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the arrest was made by a team of Padawan Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID) personnel at 3.15pm.
“The team found two men on a motorcycle behaving suspiciously by the roadside.
“Further inspections on the men, aged 18 and 23, found a plastic package containing crystalline substances weighing 52.70g,” he said in a statement.
Aidil added that the two suspects have no past criminal records.
Further investigation revealed that one of the suspects worked as a runner for a man known as Peng.
It was understood that the drugs would be deposited by Peng at the area where the suspects were arrested.
Aidil said that efforts to track down Peng are underway.
Both drugs and motorcycle were seized, and the men will be remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
