SARATOK: Two men were each slapped with compounds after police caught them violating the movement control order (MCO) standard operating procedures (SOPs) on Thursday.

District police chief DSP Mordani Tanin disclosed that the two men aged 52 and 30, were issued compounds at different times and locations.

Both compounds were issued under Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (No.2) 2021.

“At 9.45am, a police team inspected a vehicle and found that the driver had failed to produce an inter-district travel permit along KM6, Jalan Roban Lama.

“Inspections found that the driver committed a cross-district offence without police permission from Julau to Saratok,” he said, adding that the driver was subsequently issued a compound for the offence.

Meanwhile, a police team conducting a MCO SOP compliance operation in Kabong town at 10.05pm spotted a man chilling on a bench without wearing a face mask.

Mordani added that the man was then issued a compound for the offence of not wearing a face mask at a public place.
