KUCHING: The two-week campaign period for the 15th General Election (GE15) is enough for political parties to disseminate information to members of the public views Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chief whip believed that contesting parties have made their preparations and gone down to the grassroots at an early stage as they knew GE15 had been around the corner.

“I also believe that potential candidates for all parliamentary constituencies have started going down to the ground.

“During this era of information technology (IT) and the spread of the information, of course the candidate and the parties will use the social media platform to campaign with information being conveyed to the voters in no time,” he said in his statement today.

He was commenting on the 14-day campaign period announced by the Election Commission (EC) earlier today as well as the date of polling day which is slated on Nov 19.

This, he said, includes layers of society who are living at all corners of the country having more room to vote.

Meanwhile, the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president said GPS is ready and will contest in all parliamentary seats in Sarawak in line with the of Sarawak First mantra.

“The GPS leaders are working when they were given the mandate and has been on the ground at all times, and not only during the election,” he said.

Fadillah then also hope that all the parties and candidate that will contest to comply by the rules and regulations provided by the EC order to ensure the election process can be implemented as smoothly as possible.

“May the new and more stable government be formed after GE15 for the sake of Malaysians which is more harmonious,” he added.
