TYT, Premier among 1,000 at Quran recital event

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Around 1,000 guests attended the state-level Nuzul Al-Quran recital themed ‘Sarawak Maju Makmur’ at the Al-Muttaqin mosque here last night (Mar 27).

The event was graced by the presence of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang also added to the occasion’s grandeur.

Following the breaking of fast and Maghrib prayers, the ceremony proceeded with Quran recitations led by Jubni Sulong, Isman Hadi Jaafar, and Muhamad Hafiez Shafie, followed by a Tazkirah Nuzul Al-Quran led by Sarawak Mufti Sahibus Samahah Datuk Kipli Yassin.

The evening then continued with congregational Isyak, Tarawih and Witr prayers.

Notable guests included Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Utility and Telecommunications Datuk Julaihi Narawi and his Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and Deputy DUN Speaker Datuk Idris Buang.

Women and Early Childhood Development Deputy Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus, Islamic Council of Sarawak (MIS) chairman Datuk Misnu Taha, State Attorney General Datuk Saferi Ali and Samarahan Division Resident Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang were also present
