UNIFOR grants for seven missionary schools

KUCHING: Seven missionary schools in Sarawak received government fund assistance from the Other Religious Affairs Unit (UNIFOR) amounting to RM 826,770.

The said fund was handed over by Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (M-FICORD) Minister Datuk Seri Stephen Rundi Utom here at the Sarawak Agriculture Office, Wisma Sanyan Sibu yesterday (17 Feb).

According to his Facebook post, the grant was given to repair, upgrade and purchase information and communication technology (ICT) needs, and others.

He added that the recipients of this grant are SJK Methodist (M) Sibu, SMK Methodist Sibu, SJK (C) Tong Hua Meradong, SMK Tong Hua Meradong, SK Methodist Anglo-Chinese Sarikei, SNK (C) Kai Nang Sibu and SJK (C) Su Kwong Sarikei.

Also present during the ceremony were Premier’s Office (Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development) advisor Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, M-FICORD acting permanent secretary Sirai Daha, State Agriculture director Dominic Chunggat, and Sibu Division Deputy Resident Christopher Ranggau Unting.
