KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi clocked out from work for the final time last Friday (Oct 23).
A ceremony was held to mark his retirement and also to celebrate his birthday.
“I would like to thank and acknowledge the Unimas community for being very helpful throughout my tenure.
“I hope that Unimas will continue to be strong together in achieving its vision and mission to further contribute to the development of the younger generation,” he said.
Prof Kadim is the university’s sixth vice-chancellor and began his service in April 2013.
He also presented donations from Yayasan Haji Suaidi and Hjah Halimah to the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts.
Unimas General Staff Union, Unimas Managers Association, University Endowment Fund, Faculty of Engineering Welfare Club Utem Electronics and Computer Engineering were also recipients.
Also present at the ceremony was chairman of the board, Tan Sri Sulong Matjeraie; wife of the vice-chancellor Datin Kartini Ahmad, deputy vice-chancellors, deans and Unimas community.
